About this lot
Russian scale,
О. КУРЛЮКОВЪ refers to Овсей Курлюков (Ovsei Kurlyukov), a well-known silversmith and jeweler from Moscow, active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His work is often associated with the style of Russian Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) and traditional Russian enamelwork.
Bowl or bonbonnière on base, richly decorated with enamel cloisonné in floral motifs, a technique in which thin threads of silver are used to create boxes filled with enamel.
This type of work was typical of luxury objects and was produced for the imperial court or wealthy clients.
